Worship Team DevosSample
Scripture
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10
Summary
The word "handiwork" in Greek is "poema". It means a handcrafted masterpiece; a carefully constructed work of art. Each of us is a carefully crafted work of art, designed by the Creator with a unique and specific purpose on earth. No one can play or sing or serve exactly like you do. God made you unique, and your uniqueness is needed on this team. In fact, before God even created the world, He knew He'd put you on THIS team in THIS season. You are here by design. God called you. He equipped you. He opened the door for you to be here. There are good works and good words that only YOU can fulfill. No one else could replace you. This knowledge should give us confidence...that we are not here by mistake. We are called and we are equipped. God made us ready, and now it's our job to walk it out.
Discussion Questions
1. In what ways does this teaching encourage you, and why?
2. What are some of the specific ways God has wired you?
3. How can you use those things to build up this team and ministry?
4. Any other thoughts, comments, ideas or questions you'd like to share?
Closing Prayer
God, you are so amazing. Each of us is so unique and special. You hand-designed each one of us. Thank you, Lord, for the various gifts and personalities represented in this team! And thank you for bringing us together so that we might serve you as one! We are truly better together, Lord! Thank you for calling us, equipping us, and giving us the opportunity to serve you. Help us to do it with humble and faithful hearts. In Jesus' name. Amen.
