DAY 21 OF 50

When people mention the Holy Spirit what comes to mind? What attributes embody your perception of this integral figure of the trinity? There may be a lot of different images or words that flourish to your tongue to describe who and what the Holy Spirit is. But our answers should not be found in what we think or feel, they should be found in the living and active word of God.

In scripture we see a powerful person in the Holy Spirit, an advocate who bears witness to Jesus and one who guides believers throughout the trials of life. The Holy Spirit gives us wisdom, strength, good virtues, and gifts to help strengthen believers everywhere. The Holy spirit is a person, not just an impersonal force, who lives with us, for Jesus refers and speaks of the Holy spirit as a “He” and not an “I” as in John 14:17 ("The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.. ")

The Holy Spirit is God moving and working in the life of a believer, without him we are utterly hopeless. We need to tap into the limitless power of the Holy Spirit daily, because let's face it, life is hard and we cannot conqueror life’s challenges on our own.

In the next 10 days, our hope is that you will begin to experience more of the who, the what, the why, and the how of the Holy Spirit. The amazing experience of the Holy Spirit baptizing the believers of the early church who then went out empowered by the spirit and started the single greatest movement in all of history. How you can receive gifts of the Holy Spirit to not only strengthen your own Christian journey, but others around you. And why the Holy Spirit is so crucial to our lives as Christ followers.

We are so excited for you to join with others on this journey as you start to uncover more about the Holy Spirit, and more about how the word of God can apply to your life. Be prayerful and be open to the Holy Spirit moving in your life as you continue through the MORE devotional.

We'll read in John 14:15-31 today. Think about what is promised to us in the scripture?
