Day 3: Removing the Hindrances to Hearing God’s Voice:

Day 3 is all about removing the hindrances in our hearts that prevent us from fully hearing what God is speaking. ​​God wants to give us clarity in the midst of chaos. But when we fail to remove the hindrances from our hearts, this is impossible.

We all get distracted. Life is LOUD. There are so many distractions and voices vying for our attention—our work, family, friends, music, the TV, our phone notifications, social media, etc. We all have things that need to get done. While we shouldn’t neglect to take care of things we are responsible for, we can easily get so busy and distracted (even with things that are good!) that we can MISS being where God wants us to be because we are not seeking His wisdom.

Other hindrances that prevent us from hearing the Lord’s voice include disobedience, sin (see Isaiah 59:2), and even bitterness and offense (Mark 11:25)!

Uprooting these hindrances is a process, not an event. Each day, we must intentionally choose to remove whatever may be blocking us from hearing the voice of our heavenly Father.

Take time today to go to Him in prayer and ask Him to reveal any of the hindrances that may be present in your heart. Ask Him for the wisdom and guidance necessary to uproot them, so you can better hear His voice and follow His plans for your life.

Remember, you can hear from God, and He wants to speak into your life! It will take action on your part with His help to remove the obstacles that distract and suppress His voice.
