2 CorinthiansSample
The word ‘comfort’ is clearly on Paul’s mind as he is writing this opening chapter. He uses it ten times in verses 3-7! It seems that Paul has been through a tough time in the lead-up to this letter. There are going to be some strong words that Paul needs to say to the church in the chapters ahead, but he wants all of this to be done in the context of comfort and compassion. We shouldn’t avoid difficult conversations, but these should always be done from a place of wanting to bring comfort. It is important not to overlook this in the first chapter of this letter.
As we read our chapter and the passage in Isaiah today, why not bring an area where you need comfort to the Lord today? He is near to you and wants to share that burden with you. You could also reach out to someone else in the church to help carry you in prayer. You are not alone!

About this Plan
We are going through the book of 2 Corinthians together! We will be reading one chapter every week as we usually do, but this time we have also included devotions and other passages to read on certain days. We hope you will follow along with us as we deep dive into Paul's second letter to the church in Corinth and seek to see what we can learn from it today as we seek to follow Jesus together.
