This chapter’s closing verses encapsulate Christian hope! The defining imagery of light present at the beginning of this chapter echoes here; we can remain confident in the face of raging darkness, knowing that the life of Christ sustains us, and shall raise us up again with Him in His new creation.
It’s important to note that Paul is not saying that outward things, such as our body, do not matter, and that only spiritual things do. He is instead referring to the present world, and the world to come. The point about what is seen is that it lasts only a short while, but God’s true reality is richer, more real, and fuller than what we can imagine now.

About this Plan
We are going through the book of 2 Corinthians together! We will be reading one chapter every week as we usually do, but this time we have also included devotions and other passages to read on certain days. We hope you will follow along with us as we deep dive into Paul's second letter to the church in Corinth and seek to see what we can learn from it today as we seek to follow Jesus together.
