The church of Corinth had been through a lot! They became well-versed in the practice of being arrogant and humbled. We are much like them. That’s the power of the gospel. We are not perfect people, living perfect lives and being the perfect example so that the world finally listens to us. Instead, we are the messiest example of sinners who cling to our Savior and let Him save us. Day after day. That is the scandal of grace. As we receive it, so too we are meant to practice it towards each other. The enemy would love nothing more than for there to be rifts of division and unforgiveness in our community. However, when we practice Jesus's way of forgiving, reconciling and loving one another, it is His Kingdom that gets the glory!
