Promises for the JourneySample
God saved you to live a victorious life
Do you realize how powerful God really is?
Let me remind you by sharing some adjectives which describe God.
Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent, Almighty, Everlasting, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, The One true and living God, Alpha, and Omega.
He is the one who causes beginnings and endings, unchanging, the one who speaks, and things happen, the God apart from him there is no other, strong fortress, solid rock, the one who holds all authority, who opens door no one can shut, who closes doors no one can open, and we are just getting started.
Job put it this way:
Job 26:14 - These are just the beginning of all that he does, merely a whisper of his power. Who, then, can comprehend the thunder of his power?
As a Christian, you never have to be defeated. Defeat is optional. You can choose victory, or you can choose defeat. If you remember the nation of Israel, the only reason they ever lost a battle was that they disobeyed God. By doing this, they chose defeat. Before you put your chest out or start searching for a bigger hat because your head is expanding, it is important to understand why you never have to be defeated.
If you think about who God is, there is nothing in the character of God that will ever allow him to be defeated. Since this is true, how does this translate to you and your ability to walk in victory?
The answer is quite simple because this same God lives in you in the person of the Holy Spirit. Consider these two verses.
Romans 8:11 - The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you.
Romans 8:31 - If God be for you who can be against you.
If the omnipotent, Almighty God, is dwelling in you, then you can always walk in victory because if he is for you, no one can be against you. The secret is you must simply obey and do it his way. You can have victory over your enemies, victory over sin, and victory over Satan as long as you recognize the source of your victory. It’s the Holy Spirit living inside of you. He gives you the ability to live a victorious life.
Romans 8:37 - No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
Affirmation - I can live victorious because God’s Spirit lives in me. Because your Spirit is in me, I never have to be defeated.
