Promises for the JourneySample
You have been set free
Yesterday, we talked about forgiveness and moving forward from your past mistakes and regrets. Today I want to further walk down what I am going to call the Spiritual Freedom Trail. Before you came to Christ, you were a slave to sin. You were under the power of sin, the penalty of sin, the pain of sin, and the prison of sin.
Here’s how these four things affected you.
- The power of sin influenced your actions.
- The penalty of sin determined your destination.
- The pain of sin dictated your emotions.
- The prison of sin eliminated your freedom.
Think about this for a moment. Sin controlled your actions. It determined your eternal destination. It affected your emotions and compromised your freedom. You were a prisoner, but I have good news for you. You are no longer a prisoner. Jesus has set you free.
John 8:36 declares, So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
The prison doors of your life are now open, and you are no longer a slave to sin. Not even one more day. Consider these verses.
Romans 6:12-14 - Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires. Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.
My friend, today you are free. It’s time to live like a free person and not a person who is a slave to sin. I know you might think, how do you do that? Here is the answer.
Galatians 5:16 - So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.
You can walk in freedom because the power of the Holy Spirit lives within you. The power, penalty, pain, and prison of sin are no longer in charge of your life. You are free. Now live like a free man or woman because that is what you are.
Affirmation - I am free from the power, penalty, pain, and prison of sin.
About this Plan
