Precious Moments That Count For EternitySample

God’s Unlimited Supply
A widow was about to lose her sons to the creditors. She asks the prophet Elisha for help. He asked her what she had in her house. “Nothing at all, except a flask of olive oil,” she replied. Clearly, even in those times that wasn’t much.
Elisha asked her to get together as many empty jars as she could and prepare for a miracle. He told her to borrow jars from her neighbors, if possible. It probably sounds like a ridiculous request, but this woman isn’t afraid to look silly. Soon enough, she starts pouring the little oil from her flask into the jars. And guess what, the oil from the flask just keeps flowing till every jar is full. She goes and sells the oil and pays off the creditors.
Well, here’s the interesting part. It was only when all the jars were filled that the oil stopped. Can you imagine what would have happened, if the woman insisted that she had only two empty jars in her home and couldn’t fetch anymore? The oil would have stopped too soon and she wouldn’t have had enough oil to sell. Her miracle was determined by the extent to which she could receive.
Just like the widow, we must dare to expect big things from our God and expand our capacity to receive from Him because His supply never runs out. It’s an endless supply of goodness, favor and blessing. But we can receive only as much as our jars can contain. So the question is, how many jars will you bring?
God wants to fill you to overflowing. Why then should you come with pint-sized expectations? Get ready to expand your capacity as God pours out His goodness! It only stops when you say, “Enough!”
Prayer
Father God, I come to You expectantly. I stretch my capacity to receive from Your unlimited supply of goodness, favor and blessing. Amen.
