Precious Moments That Count For EternitySample

We Shall be Moved
When I read the words ‘trust in the Lord’, I’m always reminded of Abraham who believed (trusted) in the Lord and his faith made him right with God (Genesis 15:6).
When God called Abraham and told him to leave his father’s house and go to a place which he would receive as an inheritance, he went out, not knowing where he was going (Hebrews 11:8). During his journey, he faced many challenges. But Abraham just believed the Word of the Lord and trusted God to lead him.
After 25 years of waiting, Abraham received his promised son, Isaac. When Isaac was a young lad, God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son. Under normal circumstances, this command could have shattered Abraham’s world. But Abraham had seen God’s faithfulness. He trusted in God and was unmoved. The Bible calls Abraham our ‘father in faith’ (Romans 4:16-18).
When we learn to trust in the Lord, like Abraham did, we will never be moved. As long as we live in this world, we will encounter problems and challenges in our families, our personal lives, spiritual lives, ministries, jobs, and so on. Don’t be alarmed. Just trust in Him. The Bible says, Be still, and know that I am God (Psalm 46:10).
When Satan tempted Job, Job just put his trust in the Lord and knew that God is Almighty. At the end of his travails, he declared, “I know that You can do everything, and that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You” (Job 42:2). Job, like Abraham, trusted God and was not moved by his terrible circumstances. Let us imitate their faith and do likewise.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank You that You are so trustworthy. Help me to trust You in every circumstance I may face. I will not be moved by any situation but I will look to You for help. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
