Precious Moments That Count For EternitySample
There is no Generation Gap
According to the Cambridge English Dictionary, a generation gap means a situation in which older and younger people do not understand each other because of their different experiences, opinions, habits and behavior. The lack of communication leads to lack of understanding, creating the gap. But in the Bible, we constantly see that God knits together multi-generational teams that seek His face, thus fulfilling various purposes for His kingdom. God’s desire is for generational unity, and it starts with Himself.
Jesus left His throne and came down to the earth to reconcile generations to God the Father. He is unchanging (Hebrews12:1). The Ancient One! He doesn’t change Himself as per our habits, cultures and beliefs, but as we behold His glory, He, through His Spirit, transforms us into His image - from glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18). As the knowledge of the Holy One increases in us, we grow in understanding (Proverbs 9:10b). The intimate personal relationship with the Father rules out every possibility of animosity. By reading, believing and applying His Word in our lives, the world sees that His Word has the final say in our lives and the Father and His children have the same set of standards to live by. As we keep doing that, we now have to communicate the same precepts to the next generation, not only to our biological children, but also to the newborn babies in the Kingdom.
The Bible reminds the fathers to train their children in God’s ways. Interestingly, in the last days, the devil will be at work, creating chaos in relationships (2 Timothy 3:1-4). At the same time, God will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and vice versa (Malachi 4:6). After all, there will be one Holy generation in heaven with Him; His Bride; the overcoming body of Christ.
Prayer
Lord, help me to be instrumental in Your hands, to create a holy generation of people. Amen.
