I come from a family of four children, and despite having the same parents, each of us has incredibly different gifts. My eldest sister is an artist, the second is great with finance and administration, I am a gifted writer and my younger brother is a tech whiz. It really goes to show, that God has blessed us all with unique gifts and He hasn’t made any two people the same. That’s why we never have to try and be somebody else. If I kept trying to be an artist like my sister, I’d probably feel frustrated, simply because God made me to be a writer.
The Bible tells us, in 1 Peter 4:10, that God has given each of us a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. But it is up to us to nurture these gifts.
What is it that God has blessed you with? What are the talents He has deposited within you? It’s time to invest in them. It might mean connecting with the right people, doing a course, putting in hours of practice or even going back to school... be willing to do what it takes, and you can be assured that all of heaven is there to back you.
Invest in Your Skill

God wants you to excel at what He has called you to do. Don’t settle for being an average musician or a businessman who just breaks even. Whether it’s cooking, teaching, pastoring or plumbing, you must be ‘good’ at what you do. You know why? Because mediocrity and average is not of God!
It’s not too late to discover your God-given talent and work on it. Allow God to make you skillful at your craft, so that you are ‘always in demand’ and ‘admired’. The NKJV translation of Proverbs 22:29a says, Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings. Yes, God Himself will cause you to be noticed and exalted.

Father God, I thank You for the talent You have placed in me. I ask You to help me develop it and become skillful at what You’ve called me to do, that I may be noticed for the spirit of excellence You have given me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
