Precious Moments That Count For EternitySample
Rest in God
The day-to-day pressures and struggles of life sometimes cause much stress. Have you ever tried taking control of things and handling them yourself? I’m sure that we have all done that but I can testify to the fact that it hasn’t really worked out well, eventually. When we try doing everything according to our own strength, we either get burdened or frustrated with the way things go and lose our peace. But when we cast our cares and lean on God, we start entering into His rest.
The term ‘rest’ means to ‘cease from working’. Rest is freedom from all the struggles, worries and frustration. I once read that experiencing His rest is one way you can tell whether you really have faith, or whether you are just trying hard. When we do everything on our own, it is a sign that we do not trust God enough to work things out for us.
Jesus died for us so that we could have life and have it in abundance. So why can’t we enjoy this abundant life? Matthew 11:28 (NIV) says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” God is willing to give us His rest if we are willing to let go and let Him take control. Release your burdens to Him because He wants you to live at peace in His rest.
I encourage you today, to stop worrying and be at rest, knowing that God will take care of you and that He will meet your every need. The day you rest, God will be able to work in your life and you will see the amazing things He will do for you.
Prayer
Father, help me to surrender my problems to You, and enter into Your rest. I know You will take care of everything for me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

About this Plan
It is our prayer that it will reveal to those who don’t know Jesus Christ, that there is a Creator and Maker of this universe, the only loving and powerful God who longs for a personal relationship with every human being. We pray that these daily readings will remind us all of the great hope and abundant joy in knowing Jesus Christ, through whom we have eternal life!
