Responding to the Call

Samuel was indeed the chosen one. God spoke through Him to convey to Eli what He was going to do to Eli’s wicked sons. Samuel was obedient and faithful. Eli and his descendants lost favor with God because of their wickedness and God chose Samuel instead. Samuel walked in the ways of the Lord. He was in the presence of God always, which allowed God to communicate with him.
When we walk with the Lord faithfully, God speaks to us too. His Spirit is always in communing with us. We can talk and pour out our hearts to Him. He is never so busy that He cannot hear. In fact, God longs for us to have an intimate relationship with Him. But we are too busy, with our daily routine, to take time off and listen to what God has to say to us. We are so busy that at the end of the day we complain that we have no time. But, have we spent our day wisely? Have we listened to the still voice of God telling us something? If we are in tune with God we will surely hear Him, just like Samuel did.
If we focus our thoughts and hearts towards heaven we will be at peace on earth. Be ready to listen to what the Lord has to say. Sometimes we may not like what God says, but when we obey Him, like Samuel did, He will indeed honor us. He just needs our obedience. Be still and know that He is God. He knows the best for you; He will never disappoint you.

Prayer
Dear Lord, I am truly thankful, that I can come into Your presence any time and talk with You. Help me Lord, to hear what You have to say today and always. Amen.
