Sacrificial Lamb
The power of one emotion overthrew the other—joy overcame shame.
Calvary was a reasoned, predetermined plan in the Father’s counsels, and agreed to before all worlds by the Son, who knew He would become the sacrificial Lamb. In intellectual terms, it was all settled. But at Gethsemane, passion rises and blood-sweat oozes from the pores of the God-man who is caught in the emotion and tension of actualizing the redemptive plan.
Indeed, there is a beauty and balance to the whole of His Word and His way, but it can only be realized with passion.
