Rejoicing
When we are aware of God’s great love for us, our hearts respond in worship. To know and receive the gift of His love and acceptance will produce in us an overflow of thanksgiving to Him. When we realize that God actually sings a love song over us and that He sings it loudly with exuberance, our hearts want to respond to Him with song. We are amazed that He delights in us.
The Hebrew words used for “rejoice” and “joy” carry the idea of twirling about with a happy expression on the face, or of a leaping horse romping in the meadow with complete abandon. The Hebrew verb sus means “to rejoice, be glad, be greatly happy.” From this verb is derived sason, a noun meaning “joy, rejoicing, gladness.” It describes a rejoicing that is the complete antithesis of mourning; it is a pervasive, irresistible joy.
Let us respond to Him today with a love song. Let us sing and dance before the One who delights in us so completely.
