Year of the Bible: Part Ten of TwelveSample
Where Have We Gone Wrong?
Have you ever realized that each day you have the choice to live according to the kingdom of God or the kingdom of this world?
The Way of this World:
- the passions of the flesh
- the desires of the body
- the desires of the mind
- dead in our trespasses
- sons of disobedience
- children of wrath
The Great Love of God:
- rich in mercy
- made us alive
- granted us grace
- gave us salvation
- raised us up
- seated us in heavenly places
- not of our own doing but a gift of God
- we are his artistry
- we are created for good works
- immeasurable riches of his grace and kindness
- He had all this in mind that we would walk in his ways (He had planned this ahead of our existence).
What will you choose today? It can be challenging to train ourselves to think differently, reframe our expectations of what true life is, and believe God has genuinely great hopes and dreams for our life—not just in eternity but here and now as we walk with him. Do I want to choose the way of the world—away of selfish ambitions? Or do I want to believe and envision God's way, His plans? They are always higher!
Question: Do you have difficulty picturing God's ways? Take a moment and walk through these questions:
- Can you scripture that? (Look for scriptures that speak about His ways and plans.)
- Can you live in it? (Look for ways to apply his truths.)
- Do you receive it? (Let itbecomea reality.)
Prayer: Ask God to create, through His Word, a new reality that you can accept by faith in His plan for your life!
