DAY 33 OF 40

DAY 33: Confidence In His Blood

By Daniel Grenz (Luke18 Project)

“Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that He opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith…”
— Hebrews 10:19-22 (NIV)

There are several things that God cannot resist: hunger, unity, purity, and faith. Hunger is our longing for more; unity our reach for one another; purity, our resolution of heart. Holding all of these together is faith – the confidence that it matters. The temptation is to believe that things are the way they are and will not change: our campuses will continue in extreme liberalism and humanism; people will remain stuck in sin patterns; the Gospel will be ineffective and powerless against the therapeutic deism culture. On top of that, we struggle with our own issues of shame and weakness, doubting that God welcomes us into His presence. But for those who dare to dream of days of awakening, our confidence in both God’s nature and the effectiveness of our prayers is everything!

Our confidence comes not through our own giftedness or efforts but through the person of Jesus. His blood has given us access to stand before God as though we belong there — because we do. And if we belong before God, then our voices of prayer and intercession also belong before Him. As John says, our confidence is that if we know, He hears us, and we know we have what we ask of Him (1 John 4:14-15). He cannot resist those who are confident in Jesus’ blood and faithful to effectual prayer!

PRAYER POINTS:

  • Pray for God to strengthen your faith. Renounce unbelief and declare confidence in the blood of Jesus that allows us to stand before His throne.
  • Ask God for the dreams of His heart for your campus, and make these your prayer points.

About this Plan

Collegiate Day of Prayer: 40-Day Campus Prayer Guide

200 years ago in 1823, nearly every major denomination and university across America united in prayer for our nation’s college students. Campuses were being radically transformed by powerful seasons of spiritual awakening. Today, churches and campuses across America are once again uniting in prayer for the next generation on college campuses. Will you join us for 40 days of prayer for revival and spiritual awakening?
