DAY 35: Walking Pure & Blameless

“And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.”

As the days ahead draw closer to the return of Jesus, we will begin to see much deception, and “the love of many will grow cold” (Matt. 24:12). We are warned intensely throughout Scripture of the pitfalls and traps of these last days that will develop in the hearts of many. One of the greatest ways to combat this is by looking at how Paul prayed for the churches he established and the believers he discipled.

In Philippians 1, Paul lays out a prayer that has many implications to us growing in the heart of God: that our love would increasingly abound, resulting in a love for truth that produces discernment on the things that God approves and calls excellent, which will set us up to live a life free from internal offense and making choices that offend others. Ultimately, all of this is so we can stand before Him at the judgment seat, pure and blameless!

PRAYER POINTS:

• Pray that your love for God would abound more and more each day in knowledge and all discernment.
• Pray that you would live a righteous and fruitful life, free from all offense and that you may be found pure and blameless at His judgment seat.
