Advent in Exile - Christmas Longing With IsaiahSample
Have you ever felt alone?
You pray, but wonder if the Lord even hears your prayers or knows what you are gong through? I have felt this way, asked these questions.
Verse 14, in Isaiah, tells us for a long time I (the Lord) have kept silent; I have been quiet and held myself back. But now, I cry out!
Jesus does not forget us. In the fullness of His time, He acts on our behalf. He hears our prays as we cry out to Him. The Lord will fight for us with His zeal and His might. He will smooth our path and be a light in the darkness. He will not forsake us. Even in the silence, through the hard, dark times in our lives, we need to continue to follow His ways and give praise and glory for all the Lord has done. Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song! Let everyone everywhere sing for joy, shout praise and glory to the Lord.
Psalm 117 reminds us, “For great is His love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever.” Praise the Lord!
Isaiah gives a warning for those who will not follow, who will not listen and obey His law. He warns those that choose to remain in darkness, choose to remain deaf and blind. The zeal of His wrath will consume them. He will pour out His burning anger on those who will not follow His ways.

Join us for the next 35 days as we discover the Christmas longing the prophet Isaiah felt as he waited for the Messiah to be born. Prepare your hearts, in expectation, anticipation, and gratitude for the coming of Christ, just as the Israelites who were in exile did years ago! This reading plan celebrates the season of advent and was designed to start the Sunday after Thanksgiving
