God's Beloved Community: A 5-Day Reading Plan for KidsSample
Day One: Free to Love
“If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” —John 8:36, niv
Jesus can set us all free
to be not color-blind but color-brave,
a beloved community.
Devotion
One of the greatest gifts God gives us is community. A community is a group of people who care for each other. In a beloved community, we know right down to our toes that God loves us across all our differences—and we are free to love others the same way! This is God’s biggest dream for us. How good God is to want us to love as he does!
Prayer
Dear God,
Thank you for setting us free so we can be in a colorful community of love. Help me to be BRAVE in showing love to others, because I want to join you in creating a beloved community!
Amen.
Activity
Draw a picture of how you feel when someone tells you, “I love you” and you feel loved, right down to your toes! Are you smiling? Laughing? Do you want to hug or run or jump or sing? How could you help someone else know they are loved today?
