Cultivating fruitfulness: the roots

Where my need for others’ approval drives my behaviour, forgive me. Thank you that you already love and affirm me.

We all have needs. We want approval from others. We want safety and security in an uncertain world. And we want to feel that we have a measure of agency or control in our lives. Like roots going down into good soil, God intends us to draw approval and security from our life with Him and learn to trust that He is in control. When we draw from other sources, our needs are not fully met, and our fruitfulness is impaired.
