How Christians Can Celebrate ChanukahSample
"Celebrating Chanukah – 5th Night"
God has made His wonders to be remembered (Psalm 111:4). We will remember.
God is a God of provision. On this fifth night of Chanukah, we remember how God provided for the Israelites in the second century BCE. After the Temple’s defilement, there was only enough oil to burn in the menorah for one day, but it miraculously lasted for eight days until more consecrated oil could be made.
As we use the Servant Candle to light the five Chanukah candles tonight, we remember and give thanks for the many ways God provided for His people throughout Israel’s history and how He meets our daily needs today. Messianic Judaism also celebrates God’s provision of forgiveness through Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah. Yeshua made the way for us to have a personal relationship with God the Father.
Chanukah Blessings
Blessed are You, LORD, our God, king of the universe, Who has sanctified us by His commandments and has given us Yeshua the Messiah, the light of the world.
Blessed are You, LORD, our God, king of the universe, Who has performed miracles for our ancestors in those days at this time.
God Provides
“He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all, how shall He not also with Him freely give us all things?” (Romans 8:32 TLV)
“… The young lions may lack and go hungry, but those who seek Adonai want for no good thing” (Psalm 34:10-11 TLV).
“My God will fulfill every need of yours according to the riches of His glory in Messiah Yeshua” (Philippians 4:19 TLV).
Lord, we thank You for being a God of provision. We need You, Lord. You are so good to assure us that You will meet all of our needs. You meet them out of the wealth of Yeshua’s glory as Messiah. You know our physical and spiritual needs, and You faithfully provide, day by day. Thank You for all that You provide for us, great and small. Shape thankful hearts within us, Lord. May the eyes of our heart be ever open to see the multitude of good gifts You give each day. Help us to rest in Your provision.
Thank you, Father, for providing salvation for us - Yeshua.
