Big and Small

DAY 5 OF 5

Faith Always Wins

(It would be beneficial to read the Scriptures before beginning each day.)

Today we wrap up our telling of the story of Job. Sometimes we have to wait on things in our lives, and that time of waiting might not even feel like waiting, sometimes it might just feel like hurt and discomfort. Job experiences this throughout the book of Job. As we conclude today’s story, we see Job apologize to God for his doubts and acknowledge God’s power and greatness. Because of Job’s genuine humbleness and faith in God, God actually blesses Job beyond the blessings that he had at the beginning of our story. We see that faithfulness will always pay off, even if the results aren’t immediate.

Here are questions to help guide you through our reading today:

Have you ever had to wait on something before? What was it? Was it worth the wait?

Is it always easy to show faith in God? Why or why not?

How can the story of Job relate to our lives?

Day 4

About this Plan

Big and Small

I love Rube Goldberg machines. They are elaborate, complicated systems that accomplish simple tasks. Usually they are many small things that work toward one bigger goal, but sometimes they can be a few big things that do something small.
