God Sees the Big Picture
(It would be beneficial to read the Scriptures before beginning each day.)
We have been looking at snapshots of Job this week, trying to get the big picture of what is going on. We see that there is more happening than even Job is aware of, even though he is a righteous man of God.
Sometimes it can be hard to trust in God because we don’t understand why bad things happen to us, even when we are doing the right thing. This can be a big topic of discussion so one thing we should do is remember that God sees the big picture, and He has made a way for us to be with Him. We call this the Gospel message.
The Gospel message starts off with the fact that God is real, and He is good. Unfortunately, there is a problem and the problem is sin and the fact that we chose things that are sinful. That sin separates us from a God who loves us and wants what's best for us. The good news is that there is a solution to this problem, and his name is Jesus! He came, lived a perfect life, died a death as a sacrifice for our sins, and rose again, proving He is who He says He is and that we can trust in Him. Our response is the surrender of our lives, to live them in such a way that we bring glory to God and try to be more like Jesus.
We will all face difficult things, and in those times we can remember that God has made a way for us to experience eternal life with Him where bad things don’t happen. He loves us so much that He is willing to do almost anything, including dying, for us to be with Him. When we remember that, we can still trust God in tough moments.
Consider some of the following questions.
How would you define sin?
What does it mean that Jesus is our hope?
Is it harder or easier to trust God knowing that He sees the big picture better than we can? Why?

About this Plan
I love Rube Goldberg machines. They are elaborate, complicated systems that accomplish simple tasks. Usually they are many small things that work toward one bigger goal, but sometimes they can be a few big things that do something small.
