Fearless: A Six-Week Journey Sample
Week 1: The Wind and the Waves
THE WATER OF HIS WORD
Read Matthew 14:22-33.
Now reread verses 22-24 and think about the situation the disciples were in. Imagine you were there. Put yourself into their shoes. How would you describe the situation to a friend? What you would be thinking or feeling?
WALK ON TRUTH
The waves were beating against their boat, the wind was against them, and they didnt seem to be making any headway. The disciples had been at sea for many hours. This image is a good pictorial metaphor for our everyday life. You read Psalm 46 on Day 2, but please read it again, paying attention to how the psalmist is praying. What portions of this psalm do you identify with? Take a moment to ask God to build your faith.
FOCUS THE EYES OF YOUR HEART
Quietly recite todays focus passage. Hide it in your heart, meditate on it, and make it your prayer throughout the day.
Matthew 14:31-33
Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, O you of little faith, why did you doubt? And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. And those in the boat worshiped him, saying, Truly you are the Son of God.
