Fearless: A Six-Week Journey Sample
Week 1: The Wind and the Waves
THE WATER OF HIS WORD
Read Matthew 14:22-33.
Look at what Jesus said to the disciples in verse 27. Peter was afraid. Think for a moment about when you become afraid. When you are alone? When you have to make a difficult phone call? When you think about sharing the gospel? When you think about speaking up to someone who hurt your feelings? As you think of each occasion, think of Jesus words, spoken in love, as if they were spoken to you.
WALK ON TRUTH
How can you take Jesus words to heart? Do you believe Him? Continue to read in John 15:17 as you have time. Listen to Jesus as He prepares His disciples for the world and the challenges of living for Him in everyday life. He says that He loves you! As you pray, ask Him to help you take these truths to heart. Ask the Lord to weave them into your mind and heart until they become completely part of who you are, so that you can respond by faith and not react in fearno matter what!
FOCUS THE EYES OF YOUR HEART
Quietly recite todays focus passage. Hide it in your heart, meditate on it, and make it your prayer throughout the day.
Matthew 14:31-33
Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, O you of little faith, why did you doubt? And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. And those in the boat worshiped him, saying, Truly you are the Son of God.
