Proverbs 23:23 (KJV) says, Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding. Using Proverbs 23:23 to interpret this scripture, we can say that a Proverbs 31 woman invests in things of eternal value, not selling what she values. If you are reading this and prioritizing your spiritual growth, you are buying truth, the most valuable resource. And to keep the truth protected in your heart, you must stay spiritually alert.

The Proverbs 31 woman's candle does not go out by night. This indicates spiritual alertness. Proverbs 20:27 tells us the spirit of a man is the candle of the Lord. To stay spiritually awake, our spirit must commune with God’s spirit. It is the core of spiritual intelligence. Fellowship with the Holy Spirit heightens our understanding of God’s Word, which is an essential key to accessing and effectively using all our spiritual weapons. Only a relationship with the Holy Spirit can keep us spiritually sensitive, empowering us to identify and effectively use spiritual weapons to navigate life triumphantly.
