Have you ever had a gnarly wound? One that required changing the bandage for days and days? Wounds like that require a lot of attention, they can't just stay covered, or they'll become infected. At some point, they have to see the light. Our sin is the same way. We've been hurt, and we have hurt others. But if we keep those things covered, they will get "infected" and can become something worse.
Instead, God's words invite us to repent — to let Jesus forgive us. This isn't always easy. It can feel embarrassing or bring up shame when we confront our mistakes. You might feel you don't deserve forgiveness or can handle it alone. In those moments, remember that a meaningful "I'm sorry" to God can transform you and set you on a new path.
When was the last time you asked Jesus for forgiveness?
