Through the Bible: 2 Peter

DAY 3 OF 3

Salvation Matters to the Lord

The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance…
And count the patience of our Lord as salvation…
2 Peter 3:9,15a (ESV)

What can I say to people who do not know Jesus nor want to accept Him as their Savior? I was once like them. I did not understand why Jesus came into the world and died.

Modesty is a virtue, but humility was definitely not a compliment in my vocabulary. I was groomed to be modest, but not internally humble, until the Holy Spirit softened my heart one day and brought tears to my eyes. I started to know why Jesus did what He needed to humbly accomplish on the cross. Jesus became alive to me.

“Salvation belongs to the Lord” (Jonah 2:9). I finally recognized why “Salvation is found in no one else” for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12).

Prayer

Lord Jesus, forgive me Lord. How can I thank You enough for what You did at Calvary? Praises to You will always be on my lips, and prayers for the lost will be in my heart so that no one shall perish. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Day 2

About this Plan

Through the Bible: 2 Peter

Following his first letter, Apostle Peter must have received reports of false teachers and backsliders who indulged in sin and scoffed at Jesus’s second coming. He then writes this letter to strengthen believers in the knowledge of Jesus Christ, calling them to escape from worldly corruption and to grow in the qualities of faith, virtue, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly affection and love.
