Bible Belles: Becoming A Belle Of PatienceSample
For such a time as this
Read Esther 4:1-14.
Esther was a little nervous to take on such a big responsibility, but Mordecai knew in his heart that she was in the palace for a very special purpose. Their people were in danger, and God's plan required Esther to make a tough decision. So, what did she do?
Read Esther 4:15-16 and Esther 5:1-8.
Instead of acting quickly, Esther chose to spend time with God. She prayed for three days and waited for just the right time to approach the king. She came to him carefully, and with respect, inviting him to a banquet she had prepared. This was a gracious and considerate gesture, and it pleased the king. He was willing to listen to her.
Activity:
Read Psalm 25:4-5 aloud a few times. Write down 4-5 words or phrases that stick out to you (Some ideas: "your ways," "guide me," "my hope is in you," etc.). Then add these words to your patience clock to remind you to always be looking and waiting for God's plan, His purpose, and His timing.
