Ask for Wisdom Every Day - Proverbs 2
Every morning, I spend a few minutes in prayer. I follow the same pattern and pray through the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13). When I get to the part that says, “Give us today our daily bread,” I always ask God for wisdom for the situations I am walking through. To me, that’s the most important “bread” I need. Knowing how God wants me to handle any situation is half the battle. The other half is me responding!
Wisdom is the theme of Proverbs, and I think it simply means making good decisions you won’t regret later. We need God’s wisdom for family situations, things happening on the job, how to handle our money and our time, and more. The good news is that God doesn’t hide His wisdom from us. He gives it!
James 1:5 tells us, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” Wow. Think about that. The wisdom you need comes from God; all you have to do is ask. Try it today!
“Father, thank you for your promise to give me wisdom for everything I need in life. I need your wisdom today, and I ask for it and receive it. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”
