Chosen
To be chosen is to be selected or marked with favor.
Growing up during P.E. class I remember always getting nervous when it came to picking teams. I felt that if I wasn’t picked at the beginning, I wasn’t as important or good enough compared to those who were first chosen. I realize now that the feelings I felt weren’t fear of not being good enough, but a fear of not feeling chosen. Have you ever caught yourself in fear of not feeling chosen by someone else? We may not always be chosen by other humans, but we are always chosen by the Lord.
God chose each of us to be here on this Earth for this time. We seem to be a people always on the search for our purpose. It can be easy to spiral into thinking that our life doesn’t have meaning or purpose. But, the enemy makes us believe that our purpose is in what we do or in the things of this world but those things are fleeting! The last thing the enemy wants is for us to feel like we have a sense of purpose or know and understand that we are chosen. So, he is going to do everything He can to get into our thoughts and make us believe the opposite of the truth. But, the truth is we are His chosen people!
When God created you in your mother’s womb, He was choosing you to be alive right now. You were created for such a time as this. Before you were even born you were already chosen. Your purpose was set before you even knew or understood what purpose was. God chose you specifically to live out the life you are in right now. It truly is something to rejoice in and be thankful for. Even if we may not feel “chosen” by the people around us at times, we are continually chosen by Christ.
How can you make someone feel like they are chosen today? While God continually chooses us, we can still make the effort to make others feel loved by choosing them.
Pray: Lord, thank you for choosing me every day. You have me here on earth for a reason and I will trust you daily. Even when I don’t feel chosen by others, I will hold onto the truth that I am chosen by you. Amen
About this Plan
This 5-day reading plan will explore different words, their meanings, what the Lord says about them, and how you can go and speak them over yourself and others. Knowing what a word means gives us a deeper understanding of how it is used in the Bible and how we can implement what the Bible says about it in our lives. God's word and your words are golden!
