If you have carved out some margin in your life so that you can abide in God’s presence and rewire your brain to the truth of the Word; if you have used some of that margin to increase your self-awareness about how God uniquely wired you; and if you have resolved in your heart what money means to you, your identity, and God’s kingdom, then now is the perfect time to discover and engage in your calling. To get in the game. If done right, this step will help you bridge the gap between the life you always wanted and the life you currently have.

Remember, God’s plan isn’t just to save us so we can go to heaven after we die. Nor is He just intending to free us from the False Self. His plan is to enlist us in doing His work. His Spirit is intended to forgive us, redeem us, heal us, and get us off the bench and back in the game as His hands and feet to help Him fix our broken world.

The Christian life is about loving others on a daily basis: our families, our friends, our coworkers, and those in our communities. Jesus made this clear when He said, “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” (John 13:35).

It is both a responsibility and a privilege to help our fellow human beings. It’s a responsibility because God has equipped each of us to help others in some physical, emotional, practical, financial, or spiritual way. It’s a privilege because when God’s Spirit flows through us and out into the world in our unique way, the joy of being exactly who we were created to be is exhilarating.
