Uncommen: Kingdom BusinessSample
Kingdom Man
1 Peter 1:15-16 ~ "but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, "You shall be holy, for I am holy."
We started discussing what it's like being a Kingdom Husband, Parent, Worker, and Friend. Finally, we will finish it off by being a Kingdom Man. We never intend to end the hardest one with these studies, but it sure feels like we do.
Being a Kingdom man includes all our previous days and a lot more. Here are just a few additional ones.
- Disciple
- Brother
- Citizen
- Neighbor
- Uncle
- Cousin
- Son
So how can we be all of these things?
Look at our scripture verse and see the foundation for all of what we've listed and more. So, first, in 1 Peter, but as he called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, "You shall be holy, for I am holy."
Without being holy as Jesus is holy, we don't stand a chance to be anything. We can be a version of these roles, but to be a Kingdom Man requires holiness. We can only be holy with the power of the Holy Spirit dwelling in us.
I know what you're saying, "it's hard enough just being me, let alone any of these on the list." True, there are days when I can hardly manage just being an average version of TJ. However, I need to pray for wisdom, discernment, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit to have a chance to be a Kingdom Man. After all, my family needs me to be the husband and dad I was always meant to be.
But once you and I accept Christ into our lives to be our Savior, the Holy Spirit lives within us. He helps us with each of these roles and much more. Remember that our primary call is the Great Commission while being all these things. Are you still feeling overwhelmed?
Yeah...me too.
So how do we start? Christ Alone!
