Identity in Christ: A 40 Day JourneySample
Part 2: Foundational Truths
Day 12: Sin is not in charge of me anymore
Do you ever feel like you just can’t escape your sinful nature? Sometimes we feel trapped by those old habits, despairing because we seemingly cannot resist temptation. We feel like we keep making the same mistakes, over and over again - almost as if we are slaves to sin. On the cross, Jesus died to break sin's power over us. His death is enough! The truth is that sin is no longer our master – that’s a truth to be believed!
Let's Pray
Thank You, Jesus, that I am completely set free from sin – that’s what You say, and I choose to believe this today. Where I am still doubting, and Satan is still tempting me to believe that sin is my master, I pray that You would help me believe Your truth instead. God, You alone know the pain that sin has brought into my life, my own sins, and the sins of others. I repent for my sins and put them on the cross, to death. You know how much I have tried on my own to be free, and now I believe that You have bought my freedom for me. Amen.

About this Plan
Knowing our identity in Christ - knowing who He says we are to Him - is one of the most powerful ways to enable ourselves to draw closer to God. Knowing our true identity is part of our roadmap to sanctification. We realise how free we truly are and how much He wants to lavish His love on us and fill our lives with purpose and meaning.
