You Are Enough

Trophies, titles, teams, and your class schedule are all very important things. But as today’s verse says, could they also be ways that we strive after the wind? What does that even mean?

I know it can be hard to believe, and I need you to know this: You are more than the trophies you’ve won, the titles you have earned, the classes you take, the grades you achieve, and whatever else you may be told make you who you are. So much of life is striving to earn, please, and be perfect in order to feel like we are okay, like we matter, like we are enough. Except you do not have to strive for "enoughness." You are a child of God. You were created in His image. You are enough.

The things you do and the things you work hard for may be things that you enjoy, that you are good at, or that you aren’t very good at (and yet still enjoy). They aren’t who you are. These things help you show up in the world as yourself, they help you connect with others, and they shape your interests. They don’t make you enough. You already are.

Do you ever feel like the things that define you make you feel more anxious? Like they are no longer who you are or who you want to be? Today, pray for God to help you see and feel your "enoughness" outside of your activities.
