The War on Wisdom Sample

The War on Wisdom

DAY 15 OF 35

Few experiences speak without words as much as sitting in a safari jeep quietly watching the dynamic of an African watering hole and hearing the powerful roars of the lions nearby. The variety of animals that have gathered for a few minutes to replenish themselves at the end of the day are made visibly nervous, many moving quickly toward the opposite side. As the lions approach the water, all activity stops. All eyes intently focus on them. Not one creature dares to look away or stand too close. These kings of the savannah are to be feared, and it would be a fatal mistake to think otherwise. When the big cats have finished, they set out on their way again, without incident or issue, leaving their fearful audience to finish in cautious peace.

God’s authority is supreme. The Psalmist says it well “The LORD is King.” (Ps 97:1). He sovereignly rules over all (Ps. 103:19). He does as He pleases in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all deeps. (Ps. 135:6). His rule is absolute. His wrath is powerful, and He is to be feared. By surrendering ourselves to His righteous authority in our lives and submitting to His rule, we may walk confidently in the purposes He sets before us, relying on the truth that He is holy and sovereign.

About this Plan

The War on Wisdom

We are at War, a war raging since the day that man decided to choose a way other than following the Counsel of God. But God in His grace gave us the strategy we need to be victorious - His Wisdom. The 'War on Wisdom' is a 5-week reading plan through parts of the book of Proverbs. Our purpose is to help the believer reclaim the Wisdom of God.
