Kill the Giant

When David fought the giant Goliath, it was in the valley of Elah. Every morning and evening for forty days Goliath had stood on the side of the mountain and shouted insults across the valley at the Israelite army. When King Saul and the Israelites saw and heard him, they were terrified and ran away. David heard those same intimidating threats, but he refused to let Goliath keep them trapped in the valley. He ran at Goliath and said, “You come against me with a sword and a shield, but I come against you in the name of the Lord God of Israel!”

It’s the same today. In your thoughts the enemy will shout discouragement, worry, and fear. Recognize what’s happening. Don’t run away and live stressed out. Be a David and talk back to the enemy. Start declaring what God says about you. There’s nothing more powerful against these negative threats than God’s Word coming out of your mouth. The Most High God will turn your valley of trouble into a gateway of victory.

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You that You are the Most High God and that no giant is too great for You. Thank You that the valleys I find myself in are not going to stop me, but they are going to promote me to new levels. Help me to be like David and declare Your Word to the enemy. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
