Through the Bible: 2 CorinthiansSample
Triumph in Christ
But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere.
2 Corinthians 2:14 (ESV)
When let down by fellow Christians, we often let their past offence affect our present decisions. Paul and Barnabas had a disagreement over taking Mark on their missionary journey because he had earlier let them down. Barnabas chose to forgive, took Mark with him and separated from Paul. In 2 Timothy 4:11 we see that Paul did find Mark useful in his ministry in the end. Through Christ we can also triumph through disappointments.
Prayer
Father in Heaven I thank You that You are a God of many chances and that You want us to be reconciled with each other. I pray that You impart on our hearts a Spirit of reconciliation so that we can labour in Love as one in unity with the aroma of Christ.
About this Plan
Despite the first letter to the Corinthians, the farce within the church continued to worsen. Most scholars believed that Apostle Paul, who founded the church, had attempted to revisit but faced many setbacks from the ringleaders who challenged his authority. When the situation improved, Paul sent this second tearful letter to defend his ministry and deal with the rebels. Every ministry leader will resonate with Paul’s words in this letter.
