Switch: How To Follow Jesus

DAY 3 OF 6

A Life Worth Living

Do you ever try to make swaps with God? You’ll promise three months of sin-free living if, and only if, your crush asks you out. Or maybe you really want a new car. It’s all you can think about. So, you pray that you’ll get a car and promise God you won’t sin again for a really, really long time—if He pulls through. The truth is, that’s not how a relationship with God works.

God loves you as much as He possibly can, right now. His love for you is never based on your performance or ability to be a good person. That’s why Jesus made such a big sacrifice and died on the cross just for you. He loved you so much that He didn’t want anything to separate you from a healthy relationship with God.

A few days ago, we learned about how the disciples stopped everything to follow Jesus. They left their homes, family, and work to be with Him. It seems so crazy to think about making such a huge life change, but they knew life would only be worth living with Jesus in it. The same is true for us today. When we say yes to God, we’re saying yes to the incredible life He has planned for us.

The reading from Proverbs 16:9 for today reminds us that as followers of Christ, we make plans not just on what we want, but based on how God directs us.

A great way to start doing this to start your morning with prayer, asking God what He wants to accomplish through you. He has unique plans, just for you. Find out what they are today! Seriously. Even if it’s late at night as you read this, ask God what He wants to do through you tomorrow.

About this Plan

Switch: How To Follow Jesus

We throw the word disciple around all the time. But do we really know what it means? And what does it really look like to follow Jesus in our lives every day—to actually be His disciple? If you want to really be a disciple of Jesus, then this Bible Plan is for you.
