Read: John 4:39–42

WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

As we read these final scriptures, we can see that the Samaritan woman’s simple story brought many to be saved by Jesus. And then, when they heard Jesus for themselves, the people discovered that He really was the Savior of the world. Her encounter with Jesus didn’t only transform her life; it also transformed the people she told.

As we continue to read, we can see that Jesus stayed in that city for two extra days because those people asked Him to. The people gathered together around Jesus, and He continued to teach them. Let’s review some key points we’ve learned:

1. One encounter with Jesus was all it took for an entire city to be
   changed
2. One person sharing their story brought many other people to Jesus.
3. It’s very powerful to gather together with friends, family, coworkers, etc., to learn more from Jesus.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO US?

What could happen in your backyard (school, work, neighborhood, family) if you just stepped out and shared your story? What could happen in your backyard if you stepped out and gathered your friends or family to hear Jesus speak?

WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Write a list of people you would want to gather with to continue discovering Jesus.
