Through the Bible: Zechariah

DAY 1 OF 3

Who Cleanses My Filth?

Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes as he stood before the angel. The angel said to those who were standing before him, “Take off his filthy clothes.” Then he said to Joshua, “See, I have taken away your sin, and I will put fine garments on you.
Zachariah 3:3-4 (NIV)

When I was a young believer, I was quick at times to give suggestions to loved ones. These suggestions caused them to feel inadequate and judged, despite the intent behind my making the suggestion. I also exerted high expectations on my work for God to earn His commendations. But when God’s Word lit up in my heart, I realized that all my self-righteousness and righteous acts were like filthy rags in His eyes. Only by faith in Christ and abiding in Him, will I be made righteous to shine for Him, as said in Zechariah 4:6 “‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.”

Prayer

Thank You Abba Father for cleansing my sin and making me whole in Christ Jesus, heightening my faith so I can receive Your blessings. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Day 2

About this Plan

Through the Bible: Zechariah

The book of Zechariah comprises two sessions. The first consists of eight visions centered on encouraging the Jewish remnants to rebuild God’s house, followed by four messages proclaiming God’s faithfulness and righteousness. The second includes two messianic oracles, foreshadowing the first and the second coming of Christ. Christians awaiting Jesus’ rescue will find hope from this book, and just as Zechariah prophesied, “Behold, your king is coming to you!”
