It refreshes the soul, makes the simple wise, gives joy to the heart, and gives light to the eyes. The Word of God does all of these things and so much more! As we unfold the Word and journey together through the Psalms, we hope and pray that you are being filled up, encouraged, and refreshed.

When was the last time you looked up at the night sky and took some time to just enjoy God’s creation? How tiny we are in comparison to the moon and the stars! This Psalm opens with some beautiful poetry written by David. Before you read it again, clear your head, imagine your favourite spot in nature, and prepare your heart to focus on the beauty of His creation.

1 “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
2 Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge.
3 They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them.
4 Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.”

It can’t speak, yet creation declares the glory of God day after day without fail. Awe and wonder leads to worship. Why not take some time today to look up, marvel at the work of God’s hands, and let it lead you into worship of the Creator?

GO DEEP: When it's dark outside, take a moment to look up and enjoy God's creation. What does it tell you about God? What does it tell you about how big and great He is? What does it tell you about yourself? Write down your thoughts and meditate on them today.
