Psalms Streak: A Daily Devotional in the PsalmsSample

Pray for Peace
Jerusalem is a city that has a history of wars, takeovers, restoration, and turmoil. In this Psalm, David is pleading for people to join him and pray for peace within the walls. No matter where you live in the world, you have most likely heard of a city, country, or region that needs peace. Maybe you even live in one of those places. Here's the cool thing about this Psalm: David wasn't praying for peace for himself. He was praying for peace for others. Reread verses 6-8. David was using his friendship with God to lift others up who needed God's help. He was asking God to care for people he may never meet. He was interceding for an entire nation.
GO DEEP: Take a moment and write down a city, country, or region you know of that needs peace right now. Commit to praying for that area right now and throughout your day.
BE BOLD: Who needs to hear this? Who could you share it with?
