6 Cues to Find Your Calling

DAY 6 OF 7

Passion is good, but you must realize that if you are not talented or graced in that area to begin with, you are probably not called to that area.

Talents come at birth, but gifts come at salvation.

When you are born, God gives you talents, but when you are born again, the Holy Ghost gives you spiritual gifts. God graced you with natural abilities and spiritual gifts for the purpose of helping you fulfill your calling.

Your gifts and talents hint at God’s specific will for your life.

For example, if you have a natural talent for public speaking and a spiritual gift where anointing, boldness, and inspiration become evident when you preach, it could be a sign that God is calling you to preach the Gospel.

If you are born with a natural ability to sing and spiritually you are graced to write songs, it could be a sign that God is calling you to lead worship.

If you are unsure about what talents you have, ask your parents or those close to you. Apply yourself, try different things and you will identify your talents. Continue to serve at church to discover your gifts. Serve the cause of Christ, go on mission trips, pray for the sick, read your Bible, keep praying, get busy doing God’s general will and your spiritual gifts will surface.

Today’s Prayer:

Dear God, I want to be aware of the gifts Your Spirit has given me so I can use them to serve You. Lord, guide me in recognizing where You want to use my life for your greater purpose. In Jesus' name, I pray, amen.

About this Plan

6 Cues to Find Your Calling

People often ask, "How do I know what I am called to do?" With this plan, I want to explain how there is a general will of God for every Christian, and this general will of God involves: following Jesus, forsaking sin, and winning souls. However, as you continue partaking in God's general will for your life as a believer, His specific will for you begins to be uncovered.
