THE BEST IS YET TO COME

Hundreds of years before God sent his Son into the world, the prophet Micah told of an amazing event in the future which would bring peace for all people. That event was, of course, the birth of Jesus who would be a Saviour for the world.

Heaven’s response was to fill the skies with angels praising God. What did they say? They said, ‘Peace on earth to everyone who pleases God!’ Words that were not unlike Micah’s when he said, ‘… the whole earth will know his true greatness because he will bring peace.’

So what happened to the peace that God promised to the world? It will happen, but it may not happen yet or even this side of heaven. But one day everyone will recognise Jesus Christ as Lord. On that day, the prophetic words of Revelation will be a reality and there will be an end to suffering of all kinds. Let’s look forward to the time when, with the angels in heaven, we can praise God for ever and ever. Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!
