He IsSample

When we think about God, we often imagine someone so far removed from our situations that he has no idea what's going on in our lives. It's easy to forget the fact that Jesus can sympathize with us because he was us— he was fully human on the earth. Jesus went through every experience on earth that we go through. He understands what it's like to be a human and experience emotions, heartache, and brokenness. He has felt every feeling that you've ever felt. He's experienced every doubt, question, and confusion. He's ridden the highs and lows of life. Jesus was even tempted all the same ways we are, but Jesus never sinned. We can follow his example and lean into his empathy for us when we are tempted to do wrong things- he is on our side, and he has the power we need to resist
Challenge: Be honest with God today about temptation in your life. Then, ask him for help. Jesus sympathizes with you- embrace his sympathy and love for you today.

About this Plan

If someone asked you to describe God, what would you say? We constantly hear other people say things about God - on social media, in church, or even from people on the street. But have you ever actually stopped to think about what God is like? Over the next few days, we're going to discover what the Bible has to say about God and his character.
