Treasured Memories: How to Mindfully Navigate Grief

DAY 4 OF 5

Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 (NIV)

Please understand that the purpose of this scripture is to give you hope, not undermine your grief. Notice, the scripture is NOT asking you not to grieve the loss of your little one. God wants you to grieve differently- grieve like someone with hope. As a believer, you are encouraged to have hope that everything will be alright because you serve the God of hope, and there is life in heaven after death. With this scripture in mind, be purposeful or intentional about who you seek to guide you through grief. I pray that God will lead you to the right counselor, people, or a grief support group to help you grieve with hope and assurance that you will see your little one again.

Please ponder and declare this truth: In God, I have the strength to grieve with the hope that I will see my little one again.
