Feed Your FaithSample
Psalm 55:22 NLT
"Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you..."
Fear
I was once at a theme park where we walked through a mysterious dimly-lit tunnel. Suddenly, one person who was in line was frightened by something she saw and let out a chilling scream. A split second after that, multiple other people screamed as well. They didn't see anything that should frighten them, but when they heard someone else yell in fear it activated fear in them.
Fear is contagious! Just like sickness can spread, fear also has the ability to spread and infect our world. Fear has a mission and grows in strength every time that we give it space.
Fear is a thief: it aims to rob your confidence in God.
Fear is an imposter: it poses as truth.
Fear is a liar: it deceives us.
Faith
Most people think that if they have faith, they can't have fear. Fear doesn't always go away, but you can let your faith be bigger than your fear. Fear has selective memory of the past. It can recall the pain of yesterday while forgetting the faithfulness of God to bring you through it.
Faith Elevates: it elevates your purpose and God's call on your life.
Faith Energizes: It will fill you with life and energy at the expectation of God working on your behalf.
Faith Expects: it places an expectation on the goodness of God for our deliverance.
Feed Your Faith
If you want to live a life of faith, you have to feed your faith with the Word of God and starve your fear. Starve your fear from the satisfaction of worrying about the future, and rest in the revelation that God sees you, loves you, and has a good plan for your life.
What are you expecting right now? Are you expecting that bad things are going to happen to you, or are you expecting that God is going to show up in your life? Many times, our fear can be a self-fulfilling prophecy. In the same way, our faith can also direct the course of our life. Fear maximizes danger, while faith maximizes God. Fear is natural but, if you feed your faith, it will empower you to step over your fear on the way to a powerful, victorious life of faith!
